FAQ

No, we never store your Active Directory passwords. Passwords are validated through our Windows Connect application, which you install on a domain connected computer within your network. This creates a reverse SSH tunnel back to our cloud services that enables passwords to be verified when logging in.

Yes! we can supply an on-premise version for Enterprise customers that want to deploy the entire Nodal VPN stack in their own network. Please contact us for more information and pricing. Please note, an on-premise trial version is not available, you should use the cloud service to determine if the software is suitable.

No. You can create users within your Nodal VPN tenant so you do not need to connect it to your Active Directory to evaluate the service. Simply head to the Security->Users section and create a user. You can then use that user just like any imported Active Directory user.

Yes. LogonBox VPN customers are invited to migrate over to Nodal VPN at no further cost. LogonBox VPN will continue to be supported until 31st December 2027.

No. You only need to use a credit card when you are happy with the service and want to purchase a subscription. If you decide to use our Free Edition, then you will never be asked for a credit card.

You pay for the number of users that need to log in to the VPN over the course of a calendar month. When each user logs in to the VPN they consume a license which is tied to that user for the remainder of the month. At the month end, all licenses are released and the process starts again.

With our paid for plans, each user can have up to three devices (Professional) or five devices (Professional+) connected to their user account at any one time. For Free and Trial accounts this is restricted to one device per user.

Our architecutre is based around maximum privacy for you and your data; our cloud services never process your VPN traffic. VPN clients authenticate to the cloud service and receive configuration information, they then use this information to connect directly to the VPN node they have been assigned, which runs within your own infrastructure (or cloud virtual private network).

Network Nodes run the core VPN service that your clients use to access your network. You install one of our virtual machine appliances within your network and connect it to our cloud service. The node can then be assigned to clients to be used as their primary or a backup ingress point to your network.
